Started off at 8 am to rent car (manual) and drive 2.5 hrs to Gorodnya today. First stop was to a notary in Chernigiv to prepare two petitions: one goes to the SDA and one to Gorodnya city officials asking for permission to adopt. Met with orphanage director, deputy director and lawyer as well as City inspector. Girls required to write letters indicating they want to be adopted. Ate at small Gorodnya cafe: potato and mushroom pancakes, borscht, french fries (very short, should eat with fork), great bread, mushrooms with sour cream for 5 people for about $15. Home about 10 pm.
